Features
- View and edit
a Fielding Lineup for a complete game of up to 12 innings and 20 players.
- Any user defined
fielding arrangement is allowed. You select the number of infielders
and outfielders, and their position names. The regular baseball layout
is shown here with the DH rule in effect.
- If you have
selected a specific Substitution Rule (other than 'Open') and or Minimum
Play Rules in the Team Setup window, then the validity of your Fielding
Lineup will be checked when you 'Save'. Also, any starter / substitute
pairings that you make in the Fielding Lineup will be carried over
to the Batting Lineup window so that each starter / substitute pair
occupy the same position in the batting order.
- The Fielding
Lineup from the previous game is loaded by default as a convenient
starting point, unless you opt for a different game file.
- Four edit modes
are available to place players in the Fielding Lineup. The 'Single
Inning / Click on Roster' mode is shown here. Clicking on an eligible
player in the Roster list will place that player in the white cell
of the current highlighted inning, then automatically shift the white
cell down and disable the player in the Roster list. The software
prevents a player from being placed more than once in an inning.
- Yellow highlighting
of any individual player lets you immediately check their positioning
to help make decisions on switching positions with another player,
or to verify any specific fair-play requirements of your league.
- Editing features
are provided to Copy/ Paste innings and Clear/Restore innings.
- The display of
the number of innings each player is placed at the infield, outfield,
and bench positions is automatically updated as you complete the lineup.
- When all infield
and outfield positions in a given inning are filled, any eligible
players are automatically placed in the open bench positions.
- Absent players
are disabled in the Roster list and placed at the bottom of each inning.
- The input cells
for the infield, outfield, and bench positions are separated by additional
space for clarity.
Edit Modes/Methods
for Lineups
- All Innings Mode
with Click Method: The user highlights a player in the roster panel
with a mouse click, then successively clicks on any cell in any inning
to position that player. All Drag and Drop features are disabled.
- All Innings Mode
with Drag and Drop Method: The user can Drag and Drop a player from
the roster panel to any blank cell in any inning that the player is
not already placed in. The user can Drag and Drop players within innings,
but not between innings.
- Single Inning Mode
with Click Method: In this mode, one inning panel is highlighted in
light green, and the first of any blank cells in this inning is highlighted
white. Clicking on an eligible roster player positions that player in
the white inning cell.
- Single Inning Mode
with Drag and Drop Method: The user can Drag and Drop players from the
roster to the highlighted inning and also within the highlighted inning.
Those players already placed in the highlighted inning are disabled
in the roster.
