Download Instructions:

  • To download the free evaluation version of BaseLinePro or BaseLineStats click on 'Free Downloads' in the green side bar menu to transfer to the Download and Order page. Locate the appropriate 'Click Here' link to download the program of choice. When the download starts we suggest you select the Windows Desktop as the destination for the download file.
  • The file size of each program is 3Mbytes and should take less than 1 minute to download on a high speed internet connection.
  • The download files are self-installing WinZip executables. The BaseLinePro file is named BASEV400.EXE and the BaseLineStats file is named STATV400.EXE. Be sure to make a note of the folder to which you send the download if it is note the Windows Desktop.
  • If you intend to order either BaseLinePro or BaseLineStats then you must download and install the evaluation version. When you purchase either program you will receive by email a password for registering the installed evaluation version.

Installation Instructions:

  • If you have successfully downloaded either BaseLinePro or BaseLineStats and know the name of the folder containing the self-installing file (either BASEV400.EXE or STATV400.EXE) then skip the next 2 bullets and proceed with the install process below.
  • To continue with the installation process, novice computer users need to understand the distinction between Files and Folders. Windows Explorer helps you manage the information on the hard drive in your computer. Files contain information and are organized in Folders. Folders are listed on the left side of the Explorer window and the Files within a Folder are shown on the right.
  • If you think that the download was completed but can't find the file, use the following procedure to locate either BASEV400.EXE or STATV400.EXE. Run Windows Explorer and in the top menu bar click in order on Tools... Find... Files or Folders. In the window that pops up type the appropriate download file name in the box to the right of Named: Make sure that the drive specification in the box to the right of Look in: is (C:). Use the down arrow at the right side of the box to change the hard drive specification. Click on Find Now to initiate the search. If the file is found on the specified drive, the folder specification will appear in the lower box below the heading In Folder. Make a note of this folder and proceed to the next bullet.
  • At this step we assume you know the folder name in which the download file is located, and that you are familiar with using either Windows Explorer or My Computer to locate the file if it is not already on your Windows Desktop.
  • To install the software, first locate the download file, and then execute it with a single or double click of the mouse. A WinZip Self-Extractor window will open. Click on 'Setup' to proceed with the installation.
  • If the installation is successful, click on your 'Start' menu, choose the 'All Programs' list, locate the BaseLinePro or BaseLineStats program name, and then click or double click on that name to run the software.
  • On some computers with Windows 95 the install process may need to be repeated, with a reboot of your system required in between. Follow the instructions on the screen. A rather ominous message appears stating that some system files on your computer are out of date and need to be updated. Please ignore the tone of the message and click on OK to continue and then Yes to reboot.
  • You have the option within the install process to specify a folder location for the program other than the default. For BaseLinePro the default folder is C:\Program Files\BaseLinePro V4.0 and for BaseLineStats it is C:\Program Files\BaseLineStats V4.0.
